Significant tooth loss can take a serious toll on your quality of life, impacting your ability to eat comfortably and smile confidently. Dentures are an effective tooth replacement solution for patients who are missing most or all of their teeth. Dr. Len Gerken offers custom-made traditional and implant-supported dentures at his Oro Valley, AZ, practice to rehabilitate even the most compromised smiles. With nearly 30 years of experience delivering excellent results, you can trust Dr. Gerken to design a durable, natural-looking prosthetic that suits your unique needs and goals. Financing is available to help patients manage out-of-pocket costs.
Depending upon the extent of tooth loss, we may recommend full or partial dentures. Partial dentures, sometimes referred to as dental bridges, can replace as few as two or three missing teeth, while full dentures can repair an entire dental arch. Traditional dentures are a cost-effective option for patients who want to restore their dental function and the aesthetics of their smile. Full dentures remain in place using a dental adhesive, and removable partial dentures are secured to adjacent teeth using small metal clasps.
For patients who qualify, we typically recommend implant-supported dentures. These restorations are affixed to dental implants, which are surgically embedded posts placed in the jawbone. Dental implants not only provide a sturdy foundation for dentures, but they replace lost tooth roots. As a result, they send regenerative signals to your jawbone, halting the bone recession which is a common consequence of tooth loss.
When you arrive at our office, Dr. Gerken will begin by performing a comprehensive oral exam. He will also take the time to discuss your treatment goals as well as review your medical history. If he finds signs of dental decay or gum disease, we can perform any necessary preliminary treatments prior to designing your denture. Some patients may also require one or more extractions.
Dr. Gerken provides premium quality dentures using the finest materials. Our restorations are custom-crafted at a local laboratory in Phoenix.
Dr. Gerken will take impressions of your dental arches and any remaining teeth, which will be used to fabricate your complete restoration over a period of 2-3 weeks. In some cases, we may be able to place immediate dentures, restoring your smile more quickly. Our team provides premium quality dentures using the finest materials. Our restorations are custom-crafted at a local laboratory in Phoenix. Custom dentures are designed for long-lasting results and a completely lifelike appearance.
We may also take advanced digital x-rays or other scans to assess the health of your jaw during your initial appointment. These will not only help us to determine your candidacy for treatment but also plan implant placement if you are opting for an implant-supported restoration. Patients will typically need to wait four to six months after their implant surgery before receiving their permanent dentures.
If you suffer from widespread tooth loss, dentures can rebuild your smile, improve your ability to eat and speak properly, and allow you to smile confidently again.
